Traffic man Mahesh Mishra gets President’s medal: Engaged in road safety campaign for 18 years

President’s medal to Korea’s ‘traffic man’-On this Independence Day, hero Mahesh Mishra of Korea district is getting a big honor! He will be awarded the President’s medal in the state level function to be held in Raipur on 15th August. Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai himself will give him this medal and he will also get out of turn promotion. This story of Mahesh Mishra, who has been spreading awareness about traffic rules for 18 years, is an example for the entire state.
18 years of dedication: for road safety-Mahesh Mishra is on the post of Naik (Lance Naik) in the Nagar Sena. For the last 18 years, he has been continuously running a traffic awareness campaign. He has organized more than 500 awareness camps, in which he has explained the rules of road safety to more than 4 lakh people. His work has changed the thinking of many people and road accidents have reduced. These are not just statistics, but the story of safety of thousands of lives.
From schools to roads: A unique way of awareness-Mahesh ji also conducted awareness programs in schools and colleges at his own expense. He explained the importance of helmets, seat belts and traffic signals to children and youth. But he did not just talk, he also distributed free spectacles to the needy and also helped in filling the potholes on the roads. His work is not limited to just awareness, but is about bringing about ground-level change.
Three gold medals and a PhD: Star of education too-Mahesh Mishra is not only at the top in traffic awareness, but also in studies. He is a gold medalist in all three subjects – Sanskrit, political science and sociology and is currently doing his PhD! In 2022, his name was also recorded in the India Book of Records. These achievements of his show how every goal can be achieved with dedication and hard work.
Honor: Pride of the society-On the announcement of this honor, Mahesh Mishra said, “This is not my honor, but the honor of the entire district and society.” He said that this medal will inspire him further so that he can take his mission of traffic awareness further. He believes that his work is incomplete until every person follows the traffic rules.
