Chhattisgarh : Chhattisgarh government has taken a historic initiative towards environmental protection and energy self-sufficiency and has taken the initiative to extend the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme to every corner of the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. His initiative will not only make Chhattisgarh self-sufficient in the field of energy, but will also achieve the major goals of environmental protection, employment generation and sustainable development. Along with this, contribution to zero carbon emission targets will be ensured. Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme envisages providing pollution-free, free and continuous electricity to the people by installing rooftop solar power plants in every house. Through this, the target has been set to bring a significant reduction in the monthly expenses of each consumer by making them self-sufficient in the field of energy.
Every citizen will participate – All citizens eligible under Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme who have a valid electricity connection and suitable roof can apply in this scheme. The special thing is that once the solar panel is installed under the scheme, the consumer will get up to 300 units of free electricity every month. This will not only end the hassle of electricity bills, but if more electricity is produced than required, then additional income can also be earned by selling it to the grid.
Double subsidy will be available – Under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, subsidy ranging from Rs 45 thousand to a maximum of Rs 1 lakh 8 thousand per watt is being given by the Center and Chhattisgarh Government for installing solar plants ranging from 1 kilowatt to 3 kilowatt. The state government has also added its share in this, due to which consumers will get the direct benefit of double subsidy.
Clean energy and environmental protection – The Chhattisgarh government is giving priority to clean energy to make the Zero Carbon Emission Policy a reality. Currently 15 percent green energy is being produced in Chhattisgarh. The government has set a target to increase it to 45 percent by the year 2047. The Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme will reduce dependence on fossil fuels, which will lead to a huge reduction in carbon emissions. This policy will ensure a green and sustainable future not only for the present but also for the coming generations.
Employment opportunities will increase- Solar energy revolution in Chhattisgarh will also increase new employment opportunities. This will increase employment and self-employment opportunities for youth at the local level in areas like manufacturing, installation, maintenance of solar panels etc. At the same time, the economic activities of the state will also accelerate.
Benefits of the scheme- Double subsidy will be given directly in the bank account by the central and state government. Once the solar panel is installed, free electricity will be available for 20-25 years. Continuous power supply will be ensured to the people. There will be relief from the problem of frequent power outages. Apart from this, there will be additional income from selling electricity. Along with this, clean, green and environment-friendly lifestyle will be promoted.
