Raipur, 4 August 2025: Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi while welcoming the decision of the Central Government to reduce the price of 37 essential medicines by 10 to 15 percent. Chief Minister Sai said that a healthy India is the foundation stone of a developed India. This decision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a strong expression of his visionary and public welfare leadership. This decision will provide great relief to the citizens suffering from common but serious diseases like heart disease, diabetes, infection, fever and pain.
He said that with this price cut, life saving medicines like paracetamol, atorvastatin, amoxicillin will now become more accessible and affordable. In a tribal and rural dominated state like Chhattisgarh, this decision will prove to be extremely beneficial for the health of the poor, workers, farmers, women and the elderly. Chief Minister Sai also mentioned that the Chhattisgarh government is constantly making efforts to expand the centers of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Yojana, effective implementation of Ayushman Bharat Yojana and ensuring easy availability of health services from primary to high level. Chief Minister Sai said that the decision of the central government is not only a step to reduce the price of medicines but also to strengthen the standard of living of the common man.
