365 days talent search to provide opportunities to talented players: Minister Sarang

Bhopal: Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang has said that to provide opportunities to sports talents, work should be done with the resolve of talent search every day, so that at least 50 lakh youth from the state’s approximately 9 crore population can be identified and encouraged. Shri Sarang was interacting in the workshop of District Sports and Youth Welfare Officers and Youth Coordinators organized at Samanvay Bhavan on Friday. Departmental innovations were discussed in detail in the workshop. Minister Shri Sarang said that the youth coordinators should take the schemes of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department to the grassroots level. Minister Shri Sarang said that there will be a dialogue with the youth coordinators again after 3 months. He said that in the blocks where the population is less, talent search should be organized by forming a cluster of blocks to find players. He also said that the youth coordinators should also coordinate with school games and other departments.
Coordinators should constantly contact the youth – Minister Shri Sarang directed that the coordinators should play an active role in each block and stay in touch with the youth and connect them with departmental activities. He said that the work of the youth coordinators will be reviewed again after three months. He also suggested running talent search programs by forming block clusters by connecting blocks with less population but sporting talent. During the workshop, detailed discussions were held on ‘Khelo Badho Abhiyan’, ‘Parth Yojana’, ‘Fit India Club’, ‘One District-One Game’, new form of ‘Khelo MP Youth Games’, talent search programs and innovations done in the districts.
Participation of youth is necessary in de-addiction campaign – Minister Shri Sarang called upon the youth to make the de-addiction campaign a mass movement and said that positivity and awareness can be brought in the society through sports. He said, “We are not only making good players but also good citizens and leaders of the society.”
Immediate decision on suggestions received from districts – Based on the suggestions presented by the youth coordinators of Shahdol in the workshop, Minister Shri Sarang announced the establishment of a football feeder center in Vicharpur (Mini Brazil) soon. Mentioning the growing enthusiasm for football in Sardarpur of Dhar district and the achievement of the state’s international player Jyoti Chauhan, he also asked to start sports exchange programs at the block level. He also directed to organize a football competition between Vicharpur and Sardarpur in Bhopal for encouragement. Minister Mr. Sarang directed to prepare an action plan to expand the state’s only volleyball hostel established in Narsinghpur into an academy. Expressing happiness on the information about emerging talents in water sports from Sanchi region, he emphasized on the development of regional sports.
Efforts of many districts including Neemuch, Ujjain, Shahdol appreciated – 27 football clubs active in Neemuch, synthetic track, indoor hall, small mallakhamb center in Ujjain and possibilities of Kabaddi and football tradition of Shahdol were specially appreciated. Minister Mr. Sarang said that the Sports Department will also promote cricket, which is played the most, like other sports, so that excellent talents of cricket also come to the fore and bring glory to Madhya Pradesh.
Special emphasis on technology and coordination – Minister Mr. Sarang said that a digital application should be developed for monitoring the activities of the Sports Department. Along with this, coordination meetings should be organized at the district level every month and its report should be sent to Bhopal headquarters. He said that sports activities should be connected to the people by establishing coordination with public representatives, administrative officers and other departments. He asked all the officers and coordinators to send constructive suggestions to the headquarters through letters, so that there can be continuous improvement in the schemes.
Honoring those who did excellent work – In the workshop, Minister Shri Sarang got introduced to everyone and also honored 6 youth coordinators who did excellent work, Ms. Jyoti Tiwari, Ms. Jyoti Ahirwar, Mr. Dinesh Lodhi, Mr. Vishal Damke, Mr. Wasim Raja and Mr. Rajesh Bamhure. Additional Chief Secretary Shri Manu Shrivastava, Director Shri Rakesh Gupta, Joint Director Shri B.S. Yadav, along with all the divisional and district sports and youth welfare officers and youth coordinators of the state were present in the workshop.
