An officer will be appointed for continuous monitoring of the construction of the sports complex

Bhopal: Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang has directed that the Sports and Youth Welfare Department should ensure the appointment of an officer at the departmental level for continuous monitoring of the infrastructure works of the International Sports Complex construction. He said that this would be a necessary step to ensure the quality, timeliness and utility of the construction. Minister Shri Sarang was reviewing the construction works in progress under the first and second phases of the International Sports Complex located at Barkheda Nathu in Bhopal on Thursday. The status of compliance of the instructions given earlier and the current progress of the construction works were also reviewed in the meeting. There should be a clear and systematic arrangement of signage in the entire campus. Minister Shri Sarang directed that a dedicated project plan should be prepared for a clear and systematic arrangement of signage in the entire campus. He said that a concrete action plan should be prepared for the construction of administrative building, server room, IT room and a modern auditorium for the smooth operation of the complex and organizing various national-international sports competitions. Minister Shri Sarang also directed to compulsorily obtain departmental approval before purchasing equipment related to basic facilities like electricity, water supply, sanitation.

Cafeteria should be at a suitable place inside the campus. While reviewing the construction activities under the second phase, Minister Shri Sarang directed that a cafeteria should be constructed at a suitable place inside the campus for the convenience of players and visitors. Minister Shri Sarang directed that it would be mandatory for the construction agency to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Sports Department before making payment to any related agency. He also directed to submit separate project planning reports for electrical system, fire safety, signages, administrative building and horticulture work to be done in the campus. There will be proper parking arrangement in the campus. It was told in the meeting that proper parking arrangements for two-wheelers and four-wheelers are being made in all the blocks of the complex premises. From the fire safety point of view, fire safety equipment is being installed as per the standards. An additional entrance is being constructed in the campus, which will ensure convenient access to the public, fire brigade and parking areas. It is also proposed to construct a road parallel to the boundary wall from this gate towards the shooting academy. Additional Chief Secretary Mr. Manu Shrivastava, Sports and Youth Welfare Director Mr. Rakesh Gupta, Joint Director Mr. B.S. Yadav, representatives of the construction agency and other concerned officials were present in the meeting.
