What happened – A 78-year-old elderly man named Ramraj underwent surgery in the surgery department of Dehradun Medical College. Ramraj had been complaining of stomach pain for a long time. When the doctors did an ultrasound and CT scan, they saw a strange round thing in the stomach, which was about 8 centimeters in size and about 200 grams in weight. It neither looked like a stone nor a common tumor. The doctors were also surprised to see this!
Rare disease detected – After several tests, the team of doctors found that this is a very rare disease, called “Giant Peritoneal Mouse”. This is a condition in which a large ball is formed inside the stomach, which looks like an egg. This ball is usually made of lime and other substances. It is so rare that even doctors have never seen such a case before.
