NEET exam in the dark: Will they get a second chance?-During the NEET UG 2025 exam, more than 75 students’ exams were affected due to power outage. Now the High Court will decide whether they will get a chance to take the exam again.
Single bench order and then stay-Earlier, a judge had agreed to the students and ordered a re-examination. But, on the appeal of NTA, other judges stayed this order. Now the final decision is yet to come, due to which there is both restlessness and hope among the students.
Effect of examination in darkness-Students say that their studies were affected due to power cuts and they could not show their full potential. They have pleaded for justice and demanded a re-examination.
NTA’s side-NTA says that other arrangements were made when the power went out. He also said that a student secured second rank in the country by giving the exam from such a centre. Therefore, NTA believes that there is no need for a re-examination.
Impact on counselling and admission-If the court orders a re-examination, medical counselling will be delayed and admission of lakhs of students will be affected. Therefore, this decision is important not only for 75 students but for all medical aspirants.
Decisive decision of the High Court-Now all eyes are on the decision of the High Court. This decision will set a precedent for the future of these 75 students as well as future examinations.
