Ensure quality and timeline of construction works: Public Works Minister Mr. Singh

BHOPAL: A divisional level review meeting of the Public Works Department was held today in the Collectorate Auditorium , Sagar under the chairmanship of Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh. In the meeting, the progress of road , bridge and building construction works costing more than Rs 20 crore being carried out in Sagar division was thoroughly reviewed.Minister Shri Singh directed the officials that all the ongoing works should be completed within the stipulated time frame and with high quality. He said that construction works should be implemented by giving priority to public interest in accordance with the spirit of “ Public welfare through public construction ” .48 construction works were discussed in the review meeting , which included 7 road construction , 25 building construction , 10 bridge construction , 5 national highway and 1 state highway related works. Minister Shri Singh expressed concern over the progress of the delayed works and directed for their weekly monitoring. Instructions were also given to fix a time limit for each work and to review it continuously.
During the meeting, it came to light that despite extending the deadline of many works, there is less possibility of their completion on time. On this, Minister Mr. Singh directed the Chief Engineer to prepare a revised workplan after a thorough review of all such cases and complete the work within the stipulated period. Minister Mr. Singh said that the Public Works Department is playing an important role in the development of the state’s infrastructure and it is its responsibility to complete all development works with quality and speed , so that the public can get quick benefits.
Before the review meeting, Minister Rakesh Singh inaugurated and performed Bhoomi Pujan of two major projects in Sagar.
- Bhoomipujan: Bhoomipujan of Sant Ravidas Smarak Marg (length 2.40 km) from the main road was done , costing ₹8.63 crore.
- Inauguration: The newly constructed rail over bridge on Garhpahara Makronia road was inaugurated, which cost ₹43 crore and is 885 meters long.
Minister Mr. Singh said that a tree of one meter diameter will be shifted during road construction , it will not be cut. The Public Works Department will work on building a public welfare pond. The complaint of potholes on the roads will be resolved within a week , otherwise strict action will be taken against the concerned officer.Public Works Minister Mr Singh said that Sagar’s development will start at a faster pace. He said that the Madhya Pradesh government is working under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav for public welfare and inclusive development of all is being ensured.He informed that the department is carrying out the work on all the roads with good quality. The excavation of gravel and sand for the new roads will be done only with the special permission of the collector and such excavation will be done so that a “ Lok Kalyan Sarovar ” can be prepared. Such Sarovars will function as ponds. Apart from this , the department will make recharge bores at a distance of one kilometer on all the roads.Minister Shri Singh said that earlier India was considered a backward country , but during the tenure of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the country has now come in the category of developed countries.
He said that Madhya Pradesh is also developing continuously under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Giving an example, he said that earlier when he used to come to Sagar, he used to see only slums and universities , but now Lakha Banjara lake is visible with its beauty and the roads of Sagar have also changed in a new form.He said that Sant Ravidas temple is being constructed in Sagar at a cost of Rs 101 crore , whose ground breaking ceremony was done by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The four-lane road being built till Ravidas temple will be the ideal road of Bundelkhand.In the meeting, MLA Mr. Bhupendra Singh , Mr. Virendra Singh Lodhi , Mr. Prahlad Singh Lodhi , Mrs. Umadevi Khatik , District President Mr. Shyam Tiwari , District Panchayat President Mr. Hira Singh Rajput, Chief Engineer (Road and Bridge) Mr. KPS Rana , Chief Engineer (Building) Mr. SR Baghel , Chief Engineer of Building Development Corporation Mr. Anil Srivastava , Technical Advisor of Road Development Corporation Mr. R.K. Mehra along with senior officers of the department , engineers , architects and consultants were present.
