Courses focused on cyber and artificial intelligence should be started in Makhanlal Chaturvedi National Journalism University: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that courses focused on cyber and artificial intelligence should be started in Makhanlal Chaturvedi National Journalism and Communication University as per the current requirements and the university should also establish its identity as an advanced research institute in the field of media. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also pointed out the need to start activities related to communication of public welfare schemes run by the state government and survey of their effectiveness in the university. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave these instructions in the meeting of the General Council of the University in Samatva Bhavan located in the Chief Minister’s residence. Higher Education Minister Mr. Inder Singh Parmar, Indore MP Mr. Shankar Lalwani, Vice Chancellor of the University Mr. Vijay Manohar Tiwari, Additional Chief Secretary Finance Mr. Manish Rastogi, Secretary and Commissioner Public Relations Dr. Sudam Khade and members of the General Council were present in the meeting.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed to prepare an action plan for conducting employment oriented courses in Rewa and Khandwa campuses of the university. In the meeting, approval was given to start a one-year postgraduate course under the National Education Policy. After approval, M.A. (Journalism and Creative and Writing), M.A. (Mass Communication), M.A. (Advertising and Public Relations), M.Sc. (Electronic Media) and M.A.C.A. One year courses will be conducted by the university. In the meeting, the PhD Act of the university was updated as per the UGC PhD Act 2022 and approval was also given to start the admission process in the PhD course on this basis. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav approved the proposal to name the auditorium of Rewa campus as Lal Baldev Singh Auditorium. The General Council approved the proposal to implement the fourth time scale higher pay scale in the university as per the order of the Finance Department dated 14 August 2023. Consent was also given on the arrangement of registering attendance through face detection machine in the university. A proposal to establish a printing press and lab and packaging lab to provide professional training in printing and packaging subject to the students studying in the New Media Technology Department of the university was also approved. Decisions were also taken on other office and managerial subjects in the meeting.
