Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai reviewed the works of Electronics and Information Technology Department: Digital revolution expanded from Bastar to Surguja, target of 5000 mobile towers set

Raipur 3 July 2025: Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said that Electronics and Information Technology have an important contribution in fulfilling the goals of Developed Chhattisgarh 2047 along with Developed India 2047 and smooth governance with ease, simplicity, speed and transparency. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today held an in-depth review meeting of the Electronics and Information Technology Department at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan. During this, he directed the concerned officials to expedite the work like installing new mobile towers and laying fiber network lines in remote areas of the state, especially Bastar and Surguja divisions. In the coming time, a target has been set to install more than 5,000 mobile towers in the state in a phased manner within the time limit. The Chief Minister said that through e-District 2.0, 250 other offline services will also be converted into online services while expanding the 85 online services of various departments at present. He said that if people get the benefits of the schemes online from their homes, it will save time and the expenses incurred in going to the office will also be reduced. Along with this, it was also said to upgrade the State Data Center as per Tier-Three.
In the meeting, Chief Minister Sai inquired about the progress of the major projects run by the department in the state – Atal Monitoring Portal, Niyad Nellnar and L.W.E. Saturation Dashboard, BharatNet Phase-2, Chhattisgarh State Data Center (CGSDC), Aadhar Enrollment In-House Model, e-District 2.0, CG Swan, e-Procurement and Capacity Building and other schemes. During this, Principal Secretary Niharika Barik presented the details of the important achievements made by the department in the last one and a quarter years. He informed that the tender process for the upgradation of the data center pending for the last 4 years was completed, Mineral 2.0 portal was made go live, Wi-Fi Ministry Scheme and e-District Portal were successfully started. Along with this, the proposal for BharatNet Phase-2 project was sent to the Government of India and by creating Atal Monitoring Portal dashboard, KPIs of 100 schemes of 19 departments have been displayed in it. Principal Secretary of Electronics and Information Technology Department Niharika Barik Singh, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Subodh Singh, Secretary to Chief Minister Rahul Bhagat, Chief Executive Officer of CHIPS Prabhat Malik and other senior officers of the department were present in this meeting.
