An action plan should be made to control the expansion of slums in urban areas: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that in order to control the expansion of slums in the cities of the state , an action plan should be made to develop affordable and convenient housing facilities, keeping in view the socio-economic conditions of the people. For the betterment of the environment in urban areas, it is necessary to develop gardens and encourage plantation in all residential projects including Vikas Pradhikaran and Housing Board. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that a campaign should be launched to take action against illegal constructions by conducting a survey around Bhopal’s Bada Talab. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the review meeting of the Urban Development and Housing Department held at Samatva Bhavan in the Chief Minister’s residence.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the country’s reputed builders and colonizers should be associated with the development of colonies in urban areas in the state. He said that the fire service should be modernized immediately to control the accidents occurring in urban areas as well as industrial areas. A plan for Namo Train should be prepared for the expansion of rail service in the inter-city area. Soon, help will be taken by discussing this with Union Railway Minister Shri Ashwini Vaishnav. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that housing facilities should be provided to Ladli sisters on priority basis. He directed the urban bodies to take immediate action to organize the meat and fish shopkeepers in the state and provide suitable space.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized on the expansion of Deendayal Rasoi Yojana in religious areas. He said that in this work, along with government help, the help of NGOs and private donors should be taken. Self-help groups of local community should be formed in urban areas and they should be provided financial help and suitable space to start modern laundry. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave instructions to hand over the houses built under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban and other schemes as soon as possession is taken. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that clean environment is an important issue in urban areas. For this, it is necessary that ‘Nagar Van’ should be developed as much as possible by selecting reserved land in urban areas and responsibility for their maintenance should also be fixed. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also took information about the promotion process in the departmental meeting. He said that officers and employees should be promoted within the stipulated time limit. With this, an action plan for the recruitment process should be prepared from now onwards for the vacant posts.

Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya said that a plan for integrated development is being prepared for the development of religious and tourist cities. A work plan of Rs 2800 crore has been prepared in Chitrakoot city, in which a detailed project report of Rs 800 crore is being prepared by the Urban Development Department. He informed that instructions have been given to the Housing Board in view of the possibility of redevelopment projects in the state.Minister of State Smt. Pratima Bagri, Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Jain , Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajoura , Additional Chief Secretary of the department Mr. Sanjay Shukla and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.

It was told in the meeting that one crore 30 lakh Ladli sisters of urban areas in the state will be given houses with financial assistance. 8 lakh 55 thousand houses have been completed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban 1.0. More than 4 lakh applications have been received so far in the second phase of this scheme. The points of the resolution letter were also discussed in the meeting. It was told that according to the resolution point, full operation of Bhopal and Indore Metro Line will be ensured by the year 2027. 1062 projects worth Rs 1070 crore have been approved under the Chief Minister Urban Area Infrastructure Construction Scheme. It was told that 218 pink toilets for women are being operated in 183 urban bodies. The issue of operation of electric buses was discussed in the meeting. 333 projects of water supply and sewerage have been approved in urban areas. An amount of about 11 thousand crore rupees has been approved on these. While discussing e-governance-online citizen services, instructions were given regarding its expansion. The activities of town and village investment were also discussed in the meeting.

Jal Ganga Conservation Campaign In the meeting, information was given about the progress of Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan in urban areas. The work of revival of 36 water structures has been completed in the urban areas of the state and 38 green areas have been developed. 3963 rainwater harvesting structures have been built in various urban bodies. Along with this, an action plan for 30 drains was prepared for aquifer management and dirty water purification in urban areas.
