Big action on hotels and bars in Raipur: Crackdown on those who flouted rules-A case of flouting rules has come to light in many big hotels and bars of Raipur, after which big action has been taken. According to the license, liquor can be served only with food, but investigation found that sealed bottles were also being sold at high prices. This illegal business used to run from the back door after the bar was closed at night. The police and excise department were receiving complaints about this for a long time, but action was not being taken.

 Raids at dozens of places-On June 27 and 28, the police and excise department raided several big bars, restaurants and hotels in Raipur. Staff were caught selling liquor at many famous places like Surya Bar, Hotel Olive, Central Point, Mahindra, Lee Roy, Ellora, Ishika and Sudha Regency. Some places did not even have licenses. Legal action has been taken against all.

Rules flouted in VIP hotels too-Violation of rules was also found in high-profile hotels like Courtyard Marriott, Hotel Puneet, Aditya, Savera, Solitaire, Mayura, Orchid, Koya, Hyper Club. Stock registers were not even shown and bars were found open even after the stipulated time. Cases have been registered against all of them under different sections.

 Bars and dhabas open till late night are the first choice of the youth-Youths are flocking to the bars and dhabas open till late night in the city. Most of the youth first drink liquor and beer outside and then eat food in the dhabas. Many youths are seen drinking alcohol in their vehicles. This trend is especially seen in students who have come from outside to study. This has also raised questions on security and law and order.

 Question of protection-There were many bars and restaurants which used to remain open till late night and sell alcohol. If complaints were being received for a long time, then why no action was taken till now? Were they protected by someone? This question still remains.

Action should be taken against dhabas too-In the outskirts of the city, such as the dhabas on VIP road or highway, crowds of people drinking alcohol can be seen late at night. The grip of the police or administration is weak in these areas. Raids and surveillance are also needed on these dhabas.
