Service, respect and protection of the elderly is part of our culture- Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said on the occasion of inauguration of “Snehdham” building in Indore that this project not only ensures social security but also safe housing facility. This is a big and sensitive step in itself, which shows the sense of respect and responsibility towards senior citizens. He said that service, respect and security of the elderly is an integral part of our culture and tradition. With the aim of ensuring social security, respectful life and safe housing facility for senior citizens, “Sneh Dham” building has been built by Indore Development Authority at a cost of Rs 18 crore in Indore. This first innovative initiative of its kind in the state was inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Wednesday. In Snehdham Bhawan, all the necessary facilities like food, medical, entertainment, self-study, meditation and counseling have been made available for the elderly in the same complex, so that they can live a respectable life. There are also strong arrangements for the safety of the elderly here.

On the occasion of inauguration, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav gave the gift of development works worth more than Rs 565 crore to Indore. On this occasion, he inaugurated development works worth about Rs 90 crore and laid the foundation stone of development works worth more than Rs 476 crore. Water Resources Minister Shri Tulsiram Silawat, MP Shri Shankar Lalwani, MLAs Shri Madhu Verma, Shri Manoj Patel and Shri Golu Shukla, Chairman of Scheduled Caste Finance Development Corporation Shri Sawan Sonkar, Chairman of Indore Development Authority and Divisional Commissioner Shri Deepak Singh were also specially present in the program.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the social structure has changed with time – many elderly couples are alone today, some have children abroad and some live in faraway cities due to jobs, in such a situation, initiatives like Snehdham will fulfill the need for safe, self-respecting and well-equipped housing for senior citizens. The Chief Minister said that Indore is playing a leading role not only in cleanliness but also in social innovations and public welfare and will continue to do so in future. Sneh Dham with all facilities – first innovative initiative of its kind in the state Indore Development Authority has taken an innovative initiative with the aim of providing social security, respect and safe housing facilities to senior citizens. Under Scheme No. 134, “Sneh Dham” Senior Citizen Complex has been constructed on a plot of about 20 thousand square feet. This building is the first of its kind in the state, in which full-facilitated housing along with social security has been arranged for senior citizens.

A total of 32 flats have been built in this 6-storey building. Which includes 22 2 BHK flats and 10 1 BHK flats. All modern facilities have been provided in this building, constructed at a cost of about Rs 18 crore. CCTV and backup from DG set have also been arranged for 24×7 security in the complex. There will also be two lifts for senior citizens. Each flat has 24×7 water, electricity, geyser, study table, sofa, TV, fridge, microwave, etc. facilities. Room service for tea, breakfast and food will also be available on call. Also, there is modular kitchen, staff, dining hall etc. on the first floor. All arrangements have been made from morning tea to dinner. The food menu will also be decided unanimously. Along with walking in the campus, facilities for indoor games like billiards, carrom, chess etc. are available. There will also be separate trainers for yoga and pranayam. From the point of view of health facility, nursing staff will be available 24×7 for regular checkup. A contract has been made with the nearest hospital for detailed investigation and treatment so that immediate treatment can be received. 64 CCTV cameras have been installed in the entire campus. This building will provide better housing facilities to senior citizens as well as a safe environment where they can live happily with citizens like themselves. Booking has also started in this.
