
Bhopal: Anti Tobacco Conclave was organized by “Global Welfare Smile Foundation”. In the program organized at Samanvay Bhavan Bhopal, people were made aware of the serious ill effects of tobacco. This mission run under the leadership of Dr. Pooja Tripathi was included in the Golden Book of World Records – it is a historic achievement in the direction of health awareness in the state. An inspirational message was given by honoring the warriors of health service in the conclave. Deputy Chief Minister Shri Jagdish Devda gave a clear and bold message and said that “giving up the habit of addiction is not easy, but it is possible with determination and goal.” He termed the pledge of 42,000 people to give up tobacco as a campaign to save lives and said that real change comes only when the society works together. Shri Devda also said that addiction causes suffering not only to one person but to the entire family. That is why control over it is necessary.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla gave a clear message to the society that “It is easy to get addicted to drugs, but it is very difficult to get rid of it. Awareness and continuous efforts are needed. He said that Global Welfare Smile Foundation has administered the oath of de-addiction to 42,000 people in one day. He described the oath as a spark of social change and said that now everyone will have to convey this pledge to 1000 more people. Shri Rajendra Shukla warned that if the coming generation falls into the grip of drugs, then the dream of making India the economic power of the world by 2047 will remain incomplete. In such a situation, everyone’s participation is necessary to make this pride successful. In the program, Chairman of Denasiya Group of Hospitals, Shri PK Tripathi said that drug addiction is a complex problem not only of the society but of the country, to deal with which everyone will have to come together in the campaign of de-addiction. President of Global Welfare Smile Foundation, Dr. Pooja Tripathi said that the people of the state are being freed from tobacco addiction and they are being made aware of its ill effects like oral cancer. He said that people were sworn in by running a continuous campaign from May 12. Along with this, awareness was also created about the harm caused by tobacco. This tobacco prohibition pledge program was not just a formality, but it is a public movement that gives the message to keep people away from deadly addiction like tobacco. MLA Bhagwandas Sabnani, Mayor Malti Rai were also present in the program.
