Food Minister congratulates Chief Minister Dr. Yadav on record procurement of wheat

Bhopal: As a result of the announcement of bonus of Rs 175 per quintal in addition to the minimum support price by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav in the interest of farmers, 77 lakh 75 thousand metric tonnes of wheat has been procured from about 9 lakh farmers in the Rabi marketing year 2025-26. Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput informed that 48 lakh 38 thousand metric tonnes of wheat was procured last year. In the cabinet meeting held in Indore, he congratulated Chief Minister Dr. Yadav on the bonus given by him in the interest of farmers and the record wheat procurement that took place after that and presented the statue of Lokmata for working in public interest. Minister Shri Rajput informed that Madhya Pradesh is at second place in the country in wheat procurement.
8.98 lakh metric tonnes of wheat procured from more than one lakh women farmers
Minister Shri Rajput informed that the minimum support price of wheat is Rs 2425 and the state government has given a bonus of Rs 175 per quintal. In this way, wheat has been procured at the rate of Rs 2600 per quintal, which is the highest in the country. He informed that out of 9 lakh farmers, 1 lakh 23 thousand women farmers have sold 8 lakh 98 thousand metric tonnes of wheat. 3623 centres were opened for wheat procurement at the support price, out of which 293 centres were run by women self-help groups, which promoted women empowerment. A sum of Rs 2 thousand 335 crore including bonus has been paid into the accounts of women farmers. A total of Rs 19 thousand 322 crore has been paid into the accounts of farmers.
In the Rabi marketing year 2025-26, for the convenience of wheat producing farmers, in addition to 3 thousand 176 committee level registration centers, the facility of self-registration by the farmer was made available at 9311 MP Online, Common Service Centers, Public Service Centers, Panchayat centers. To limit the cost of wheat procurement at the support price, 2440 centers were created at the warehouse level, which has saved transportation and handling expenses.
Arrangements made for the convenience of farmers
Biometric / OTP based farmer registration was arranged this year to prevent middlemen / traders from taking advantage of the support price. Arrangement has been made to pay the support price amount of the produce sold by the farmers in their bank account without any hassle, so that payment in the Aadhar linked bank account of the farmer can be made. Arrangement has been made for slot booking for the sale of produce by the farmer by selecting the procurement center himself. Arrangement has been made to pay the Mandi Labor Expenses along with the payment of farmers every day to meet the daily expenses of the procurement committees. Purchase was made when the farmer brought his produce to the procurement center for sale on Saturdays and other holidays. This year registration was started from 20 January 2025 which continued till 9 April. This year, more time was given for registration as compared to last year.
During this, members of the Council of Ministers, Additional Chief Secretary Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Mrs. Rashmi Arun Shami, Commissioner Food Mr. Karmaveer Sharma and MD Civil Supplies Corporation Mr. Anurag Verma were also present.
