In this episode, on the instructions of Collector Deepak Soni, SDO and Sub Engineer of Water Resources and Credit Department reached village Baldakchar under development block Kasdol today and started the survey work. As per the announcement of the Chief Minister, a survey was conducted by the engineer of the Water Resources Department on Tuesday for the construction of embankment in Mahanadi to protect the river bank from erosion. The Executive Engineer said that it is necessary to build a concrete
embankment on the right bank of the river to protect the village Baldakchar from the rapid erosion caused by the floods of Mahanadi every year. For this, the survey work is going on. To stop the erosion in the length of about one and a half kilometer in the bank of Mahanadi, erosion will be stopped by building a structure of cement concrete in about 5 meter slant height. The construction cost of this work is estimated to be Rs 888.00 lakh. The erosion caused by the flood water of Mahanadi can be prevented by embankment construction.
