Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan praised Jashpure brand products adorned with the fragrance of Chhattisgarh’s culture, taste and self-reliance
Raipur 13 May 2025: Union Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today praised the products of “Jashpure” brand, which is imbued with the rich culture, tradition and spirit of self-reliance of Jashpur district of Chhattisgarh. Appreciating the products of “Jashpure”, Union Minister Chouhan said that this initiative is an important step towards empowering the rural economy. ‘Jashpure’ is not only a brand, it has become a symbol of the fragrance of Chhattisgarhi soil, hard work of tribal sisters and self-reliant Chhattisgarh.
It is noteworthy that during the review meeting held at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai presented him a special traditional basket decorated with food items of Jashpur brand prepared by the women of the self-help group of Jashpur district. This basket of “Jashpure” brand, which has become the identity of Chhattisgarh, was not just a gift, but a living symbol of self-reliance, hard work and indigenous skills. The products decorated in a handmade basket of Chhind brass included diverse products like Deki, Kuta, Jawan Phool Rice, Tau Pasta, Mahua Cookies, Ragi, Makhana Laddu, Mahua Gond Laddu, Mahua Chyawanprash, Green Tea, Honey and Herbal Syrup. Union Minister Chauhan showed keen interest in the products and enquired about each item with great enthusiasm. He said that these products not only taste good but also reflect the hard work and pride of our tribal community. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said on this occasion that our government, assimilating the ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji, is empowering such local brands which not only promote economic self-reliance but also keep our cultural heritage alive. He further said that the women of self-help groups of Chhattisgarh are not only making products but are also laying the foundation of self-reliant Chhattisgarh.
