Horses and mules banned in Kedarnath Yatra, administration took a big decision

Uttarakhand:  An important news has come for pilgrims going on the Char Dham Yatra. Horses and mules have been banned for 24 hours on the way to the Kedarnath Yatra. The administration has taken this decision because some animals are suspected to be carrying a virus, Equine Influenza. The movement of horses and mules has been banned in the Kedarnath Yatra. The district administration has taken this step as a precautionary measure and has banned the movement of horses and mules for some time. Now the administration is requesting pilgrims to use modes like dandi, kandi or palki to complete the journey. Meanwhile, a team from the National Research Institute of Equines from Hisar in Haryana has also reached Rudraprayag, which is investigating the matter.

Animals found sick will be kept in isolation. This special team is examining potentially sick horses and mules. Any animals found sick will be kept in quarantine, separate from the rest of the animals. Secretary of Animal Husbandry Department, Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam has said that they are keeping an eye on the entire situation and no negligence will be taken. Until the virus is confirmed, all kinds of precautions will be taken. Despite the ban, strict action will be taken against those who drive. The administration has clearly said that if any person is found driving horses and mules during this ban, strict action will be taken against him. Let us tell you that every year lakhs of devotees come to visit Kedarnath, and in such a situation the administration has become very cautious about the health of the animals. This whole matter has now become one of the biggest priorities of the administration.
