The entire state should equally benefit from the expertise of the National Dairy Development Board: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that it is our resolve to increase milk production in the state from 9 percent to 20 percent. For this, it is necessary to ensure that the entire state gets the benefit of the expertise of National Dairy Development Board in the dairy sector equally. Necessary consultancy should also be made available to private dairy operators along with cooperative unions. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that to increase milk production in the state, there is a need to simplify and smoothen the process of bringing better breed cows and buffaloes from other states to the state and making them available to farmers. It is also necessary to ensure that dairy products go out of the state only after value addition of milk produced in the state. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was reviewing the action taken after the contract between National Dairy Development Board and MP State Cooperative Milk Union at Samatva Bhavan. Minister of State for Animal Husbandry and Dairy (Independent Charge) Lakhan Patel, Chief Secretary Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, National Dairy Development Board Chief Minesh Shah, Executive Director S. Raghupati, General Manager Sanjay Gobani and other officials were present. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that large cow shelters are being developed in the state. Their development and better management will also help in increasing milk production. He said that private universities should also conduct courses related to dairy technology and animal husbandry. By connecting technical experts of universities and other institutions to the cow shelters, their guidance and direction will help in improving the management of cow shelters.

It was told in the meeting that in compliance with the contract, the charge of Chief Executive Officers of the milk unions of the state has been handed over to the Chief Executive Officers nominated by the National Dairy Development Board. As per the instructions, work is going on in coordination with the National Dairy Development Board to expand the coverage area of ​​​​the milk cooperatives of the state, to develop infrastructure based on milk collection, milk processing and milk products based on updated technology. The National Dairy Development Board is working with the goal of establishing primary dairy cooperatives in at least 50 percent of the villages of the state in the next five years. A large number of farmers will benefit from this. The rate of purchase of milk by milk unions has been increased in order to provide fair price to farmers for milk. Milk collection, quality control, storage system etc. are being reviewed by experts. Implementation of automatic milk collection system is proposed under digitalization of entire dairy value chain. Under Madhya Pradesh Dairy Vikas Yojana, along with expansion and strengthening of dairy cooperative coverage, cold chain infrastructure, milk parlor establishment, brand promotion, market study are proposed for improvement in marketing of milk and milk products. Specialized activities will be conducted regarding nutrition and health of animals to increase milk production. Along with this, initiative will also be taken for implementation of farmer welfare schemes of state government in coordination with dairy cooperative institutions.
