Madhya Pradesh government is buying wheat at the highest rate in the country at Rs. 2600 per quintal: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the Madhya Pradesh government is buying wheat at the highest rate of Rs 2600 per quintal in the entire country, so that the wheat producing farmers of the state get maximum benefit. This procurement amount also includes the bonus amount of Rs 175 per quintal given by the government to the farmers. He said that in terms of wheat production and procurement, we are ahead of food grain producing states like Punjab and Haryana. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed to complete the e-KYC of all types of ration card holders as soon as possible. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the review meeting of the Food , Civil Supplies and Consumer Rights Protection Department in the Ministry on Wednesday. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed the departmental officers to provide ration material to all types of ration card holders of the state as per their eligibility on time and without any difficulty.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that eligible beneficiaries under the National Food Security Scheme should not face any problem in getting ration. He has given instructions to make the arrangements better and error-free to make the public food distribution system more effective , so that no eligible beneficiary is deprived of getting ration.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav instructed the officers that all the schemes related to public interest, especially food grain distribution, subsidy distribution of Ujjwala Gas Scheme and laying of domestic gas pipelines to every house, should be done with full promptness and sensitivity , so that the citizens of the state can get full benefit of the government facilities.

Our priority is to provide food to every needy person

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that error-free ration distribution , timely payment of procurement amount to farmers and providing food grains to every needy is the priority of the state government. All arrangements and necessary steps should be taken for this. The work of laying domestic gas pipeline should be completed as soon as possible. He said that Srianna like maize, kodo-kutki should also be given to self-help groups and government fair price shops , so that their demand (consumption) increases and farmers producing Srianna get encouragement.

Complete the wheat procurement work by May 5

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav directed to pay special attention to the wheat procurement system running in the state. He said that complete transparency should be followed in the wheat procurement process and the payment for wheat procurement should be made to the farmers in the shortest possible time. It should be ensured that there is no negligence at any level. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav told the departmental officials to extend the slot booking period for wheat procurement till April 30. All the work of wheat procurement from all the farmers who have made bookings till this period should be completed by May 5, 2025 at all costs .

Food , Civil Supplies and Consumer Rights Protection Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput told in the meeting that to curb the tampering of foodgrain stock in the warehouses, now the Food Department will put QR codes on all the gunny bags (sacks) of foodgrains. Similarly, all the warehouses under MP Warehousing Corporation are also being equipped with QR codes. CCTV cameras will also be installed in them. A control command center is also being built in Bhopal to monitor the distribution of foodgrains , government fair price shops and all the food stocking work from the headquarters. He told that the department is modernizing and upgrading its own 1596 warehouses in a systematic manner. Insurance policy is also being implemented under the latest provisions for maximum risk cover of the stock and other resources stored in all the warehouses. Minister Shri Rajput told that mechanized cleaning machines have been installed at the procurement centers for cleaning the procured stock. Along with grain analysers, signage is also being installed in all the warehouses under the department to test the quality of stock.

Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Jain, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Rajoura ( Chief Minister’s Office ), Additional Chief Secretary Cooperation Mr. Ashok Barnwal , Additional Chief Secretary Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Rights Protection Mrs. Rashmi Arun Shami , Commissioner Food Department Mr. Karmveer Sharma and other senior officers were also present in the meeting. The officers apprised Chief Minister Dr. Yadav of the progress of all the schemes and arrangements run by the department.

It was told in the meeting that under the National Food Security Act, food grains are being distributed to one crore 31 lakh 34 thousand families in 29 types of eligibility categories in the state. Antyodaya families are also being given sugar along with ration. A special campaign is going on for e-KYC of eligible beneficiaries. So far, ” e-KYC ” of 80.43 percent eligible beneficiaries has been done. It was told that an innovation is being done by the department in the form of Jan Poshan Kendra. In this, 30 government fair price shops of Indore district have been made Jan Poshan Kendra as a pilot project with the cooperation of the Central Government. These fair price shops have made arrangements with their own financial resources. The department has also prepared a proposal to make 15-15 shops of Ujjain and Sagar districts as Jan Poshan Kendra.
