Government employees may get the gift of promotion from May, expectations increased in MP

Bhopal: The process of promotions which were stuck for the last nine years in Madhya Pradesh is now going to start again. After the announcement of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, the General Administration Department (GAD) has prepared a draft of the new promotion policy after consulting with the officers of the Law and Legislative Department. This draft will now be placed in the cabinet, after getting its approval, it is planned to implement it in the month of May. After this, promotions will start in different departments. Where the number of employees and officers is less, the promotion process can be done first. Employees working in the ministry are also expected to get promotion in the first round itself. GAD has made its preparations regarding this. Promotion will be given on the basis of merit and seniority If sources are to be believed, this time promotion will be given keeping in mind merit i.e. performance and seniority. Let us tell you that promotions were stopped in the state since April 2016 due to the ban of the Supreme Court. In these nine years, about one and a half lakh officers and employees have retired.

No change in recruitment rules In February 2025, the Law Department promoted about 150 employees. The reason for this was that even though the reservation rule was repealed, there was no change in the departmental recruitment rules. On this basis, promotion was given according to seniority on completion of a fixed time. Was asked to find a way for promotion Based on the promotion done in the Law Department, many employee organizations had demanded the government to give promotion to all employees and officers. After this, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav had asked GAD and Law Department to find a way together. It is reported that now GAD has made full preparations. Acting post was received, but no financial benefit In some departments, officers and employees were promoted under the decision of the court, but they got only acting post, not salary or other benefits. Now there is talk of giving them permanent promotion through DPC, so that they can get full benefit according to their post.
