Chhattisgarh flies high in the field of electronics

Chhattisgarh: • A state-of-the-art Common Facility Center (CFC) is being set up under the Greenfield Electronic Manufacturing Cluster in Sector-22 of Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. This center will prove to be highly beneficial for industries and startups working in the field of electronics. • This Common Facility Center will become a center of technological innovation, industrial collaboration and employment generation. This project will be helpful in fulfilling the resolve of Chief Minister Sai to make Chhattisgarh a technologically rich and self-reliant state. • This project is being developed by Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority. For this, assistance of Rs 75 crore has been received under the EMC 2.0 scheme from the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of the Central Government. Its total cost is Rs 108.43 crore, in which the state government’s contribution will be Rs 33.43 crore. • Developed in 3.23 acres of land in Nava Raipur, this center is equipped with modern technologies like printed circuit board prototyping, 3D printing, EMC testing, environmental and reliability testing. This will provide technical support to industries engaged in the manufacture of products like semiconductors, LED lighting, solar charge controllers, electric vehicle (EV) equipment, automation solutions and SCADA panels. • Chief Minister Sai says that our aim is not only to set up industries, but to connect the youth of Chhattisgarh with technological opportunities and make the state self-reliant. This Common Facility Center is a new opportunity for investors and it will prominently establish Chhattisgarh on the map of electronics manufacturing. • This center is also very useful for small enterprises who want to check the quality of their products or are working on new designs. Startups will be able to test their products, prepare new prototypes and move towards production rapidly. This will increase employment opportunities in the state and provide necessary technical support to industries. • Along with this, the incentives available in the industrial policy of the state government will increase new investments in the state. This project will add a new chapter to the industrial progress of Chhattisgarh and will give Nava Raipur a new identity in the field of technology.
Polymatic Company • Polymatic Company has been a pioneer in the production of semiconductors in India. This company was established in 2019. In 2008, semiconductor production started in Opto-Electronics in Chennai where manufacturing and packaging of LED chips is being done. • The company has been providing state-of-the-art semiconductor testing facilities in California for the last five decades, which is used by companies from many countries of the world. • In France, the company is producing monocrystalline, polycrystalline silicon, silicon-carbide and safwar wafers. • The company is going to set up a second plant in Nava Raipur. This plant will position India as a powerhouse in the field of semiconductors. • Critical semiconductor modules and satellite communication equipment will be manufactured in this plant. • New generation chips ranging from 5G-6G will be manufactured in the plant. Which will be supplied domestically and to other countries of the world. • The company will strengthen the supply chain as well as fill the technical gap in the field of semiconductors. And will make India a leader in advanced semiconductor production.
Additional investment of 10 thousand crores • Polymatic Company has announced an investment of 10 thousand crores to provide state-of-the-art power module and fabrication facilities in Nava Raipur. This unit will focus on field-effect transistors, MOSFET, thyristors. This power electronics will be used especially in electric vehicles. • This ambitious expansion project will make India a leader in the field of advanced semiconductor manufacturing. At the same time, it will create employment opportunities for 5 thousand high-skilled talented young engineers of Chhattisgarh.

It is a process in which wafers are converted into integrated circuits (ICs). • Semiconductor-packaging- Its main function is to protect the semiconductor chip from external hazards and environmental effects. It connects the chip electrically and mechanically to the circuit voltage.
