Barwani: A sleeper coach bus carrying laborers overturned on Sendhwa State Highway, about 15 km from the district headquarters, on the evening of Holi. Around 30 people were injured in the accident, and tragically, a one-and-a-half-year-old child lost their life. The bus was traveling from Palsud to Gujarat when it overturned near the village of Junajhira. Eyewitnesses claim that the driver was speeding and under the influence of alcohol. The incident occurred around 5:30 PM on Friday. As soon as the authorities were informed, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sumer Singh Solanki, SP Jagdish Dawar, SDM Bhupendra Rawat, SDOP Dinesh Chauhan, and police from Barwani and Silavad stations rushed to the scene. Several ambulances from Barwani and Silavad also arrived at the spot to assist the injured.
Passengers from Different Villages Were on Board
With the help of locals and police, the injured were first taken to Silavad Hospital for primary treatment. Those with serious injuries were later referred to the district hospital by ambulance. The passengers included men and women from various villages in the Silavad-Palsud region. At least 10 severely injured passengers were sent to the district hospital for further treatment. MLA Rajan Mandloi visited the hospital to check on the injured and ensure they were receiving proper medical care.
Authorities to Investigate the Incident
SP Jagdish Dawar stated that a thorough investigation will be conducted into the accident. The priority was to get medical attention to the injured, with many being transferred from Silavad Hospital to the district hospital.
Proper Medical Care Ensured
Upon receiving news of the accident, Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sumer Singh Solanki visited Silavad Hospital to meet the injured and gather information about the incident. He directed doctors and hospital staff to provide proper treatment and instructed officials to conduct a thorough investigation and take necessary action.
