Holi in Uttarakhand: Changing Weather May Bring Rain and Snow, Know the Details

Uttarakhand Weather Update: Rain and Snow Expected During Holi, Yellow Alert Issued

The weather in Uttarakhand is set to change once again. According to the Meteorological Department, the state’s hilly districts may experience bad weather from March 13 to 15. A yellow alert has been issued for light rainfall over these three days, raising concerns about possible rain during Holi celebrations in several districts.

Light Rain Expected in the Mountains

Starting Wednesday, light rainfall is expected in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh districts. However, the weather will remain dry in other parts of the state. In Dehradun, the sun is shining bright, and daytime temperatures are gradually rising, though mornings and evenings are still chilly.

Yellow Alert for Rain and Snow

The weather department has issued a yellow alert for rain from March 13 to 15. Additionally, on March 15, higher altitudes may witness snowfall, leading to a further drop in temperatures.

Holi Celebrations May Be Affected

With Holi falling on March 14, a change in weather might dampen the festive spirit in some places. Rain could make it difficult to play Holi with watercolors, and snowfall in higher regions could bring an extra chill to the celebrations.

Colder Days Ahead?

Over the past few days, the weather has remained dry, causing daytime heat to rise in the plains. However, with the expected rain and snowfall, temperatures could drop again, bringing chilly conditions back to both the hills and plains.
