Raipur, 10 March 2025: A 20-member delegation of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Kunbi Samaj Mahasangh paid a courtesy call on Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai and expressed gratitude for making the film “Chhava” based on the life of Chhatrapati Shambhaji Maharaj tax free in the state. The delegation said that this decision is an important initiative to make the history reach the people in a simple and easy form. The delegation honored Chief Minister Shri Sai by presenting the statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Marathi cap, shawl and coconut and said that under your leadership the state is continuously moving forward on the path of good governance and progress.
The delegation demanded to declare a public holiday on the occasion of Shivaji Jayanti. Women members of the delegation, Smt. Sarika Gedekar and Smt. Manisha Barse told Chief Minister Shri Sai that women of Kunbi Samaj have established cottage industry in Samajik Bhawan to promote self-employment. Under this, turmeric, chilli, spices etc. are being manufactured and packaged and made available in the market. Chief Minister Sai praised this initiative of women and called it an inspirational step towards women empowerment. The delegation gave information related to the construction of Pradesh Kunbi Samaj Bhawan to the Chief Minister and discussed the future action plan of the society. Shri Ranjit Bhau Muneshwar, Shri Umesh Ghodmod, Smt. Sarika Gedekar, Smt. Manisha Barse, Dilip Gedekar, Shri Hemraj, Shri Prem Bohra, Shri Vasudev Funde, Smt. Ragini Gedekar, Smt. Sangeeta Bhandarkar, Smt. Rinku and other officials were present in the delegation.
