Mass marriages are becoming a medium of positive change in society: Chief Minister Dr. Yadav

Raipur: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that there was a time when poor families would get into debt after marrying off their daughters. As soon as the daughter was born, there was a worry about her marriage. But now the government is giving away daughters in marriage. Parents are no longer sad on the birth of daughters, but sing songs of congratulations. The Chief Minister Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana has proved to be a boon for the daughters of poor families. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the Chief Minister Kanya Vivah Sammelan at Kesla Narmadapuram. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav participated in the program virtually from the Chief Minister’s residence. 508 couples tied the knot in the mass marriage. Here the marriage of a Kalyani and a Divyang sister was also solemnized. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav congratulated and wished the newly married couples.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that out of the 16 rituals of Sanatan culture, marriage is an important ritual. Every newly married couple participating in the mass marriage is being given Rs. 49 thousand as Mangalaashish. Mass marriages are becoming a medium of positive change in the society. They also give the message of frugality and social harmony. In Indian tradition, marriage is not a compromise or agreement, but a sacred bond that lasts for many births.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government is running various schemes for women empowerment. In accordance with the wishes of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, Nari Sashaktikaran Mission has been started in the state. Sisters are becoming self-reliant through Ladli Behna Yojana and self-help groups. Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Shri DD Uikey, MP Shri Darshan Singh Chaudhary, MP Smt. Maya Narolia, MLA Shri Premshankar Verma, Shri Vijay Pal Singh and other public representatives and Panchayat representatives were present in the program organized in Kesla.
