Bhind Tragedy: Driver Falls Asleep, Crashes into Loading Vehicle, 5 Killed Including Couple

Bhind: A high-speed dumper collided with a loading vehicle parked by the roadside in the Jawaharpura village, located under the Dehat police station, on the Gwalior-Itawa National Highway 719. The impact of the crash was so strong that the loading vehicle was pushed 50 meters away. In this tragic accident, five people, including a husband and wife, lost their lives, while over eight others were injured. The incident occurred at 5 a.m. on Tuesday. According to reports, Rakesh Bansal’s son was getting married in Jawaharpura Nivali, and relatives from Bhawanipura in the city had come for the wedding. At around 5 a.m., they were getting into the loading vehicle to head back home when a dumper coming from the Itawa side suddenly rammed into the vehicle. The victims included 45-year-old Guddi Devi, wife of Omprakash Jatav, 20-year-old Hemlata, wife of Pradyumn Jatav, 25-year-old Pradyumn, son of Kashiram Jatav, 22-year-old Arun, son of Virendra Kaushal, and an unidentified woman whose name has not been recognized.

Over eight people were injured in the accident. Following the crash, angry locals blocked the highway, leading to a traffic jam. The local MLA and SP arrived at the scene and spoke with the people to calm the situation. The protest caused traffic disruption for a while. In a separate incident in Bhind, near the Barohi police station, an unknown vehicle struck an elderly person while he was crossing the road on the Gwalior-Itawa National Highway. The elderly man died on the spot. The victim, 65-year-old Ramesh, son of Krishnabihari Sharma from Ladmpura, Barohi, was on his way to his field after having his meal when the accident happened. In another incident, 35-year-old Bajnath Ram, son of Bhikram Ravidas, and 50-year-old Ramchandra, son of Bholaram Ravidas, who had come to attend a wedding in Khari Ka village, Ater, were walking on the road when a motorcycle hit them from behind. Both sustained injuries and were admitted to the district hospital.
