To make rural women self-reliant and self-sufficient and to establish mutual harmony, ‘Mahatari Sadan’ is being built in 202 Gram Panchayats: Chaitram Atami
Chaitram Atami said that for the purpose of collective participation in social programs and women empowerment, a budget provision of Rs 50 crore has been made for building Mahtari Sadan, more than Rs 44 crore has been approved for building 179 houses.
The state government has empowered the Gram Panchayats more and has provided them with sufficient funds for development and employment-oriented works, as well as ensuring the security of the economic interests of the Panchayat Secretaries.
Women were unsafe during the Congress rule, the work of Ready to Eat was snatched from the women self-help groups, the promise of prohibition of liquor was made but it was not fulfilled.
Dantewada: MLA Chaitram Atami said that after the formation of the BJP government in Chhattisgarh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, not only has the entire focus been on the development of rural areas, but revolutionary steps have also been taken in the direction of providing basic facilities to the villagers by removing the minor problems of the rural areas. He further said that the BJP government of the state has empowered the Gram Panchayats more and has provided them with sufficient funds for development and employment-oriented works, as well as ensuring the protection of the economic interests of the Panchayat Secretaries. Atami said that on one hand, while the work of economically empowering 70 lakh women in the state is being done by depositing Rs 1000 every month in the accounts of Mahtari Vandan Yojana, ‘Mahatari Sadan’ is being constructed in the Panchayats to overcome the difficulties faced by women while working in public sectors. He further informed that a budget provision of Rs 50 crore has been made for the construction of Mahtari Sadan in 202 Gram Panchayats with the aim of making rural women self-reliant and self-sufficient and establishing mutual harmony, collective participation in social programs and women empowerment. For this work, an amount of Rs 44.21 crore has been released for the construction of 179 Mahtari Sadan at present.
Similarly, the arrears amount of the difference in the new pay scale of the Gram Panchayat Secretaries was pending for payment for about 5 years from the year 2018. The BJP government of the state has provided an allocation of Rs. 47,98,40,631 (Forty Seven Crore Ninety Eight Lakh Forty Thousand Six Hundred Thirty One Rupees) for the arrears of the Panchayat Secretaries to the districts. Discussing the Contributory Pension Scheme, he further said that the Contributory Pension Scheme for the Gram Panchayat Secretaries has started from April 2012, in which an allocation of Rs. 38,56,82,059 (Thirty Eight Crore Fifty Six Lakh Eighty Two Thousand Sixty Nine Rupees) has been made for the employer’s contribution for about 8 years from April 2012 to June 2020. Thus, by depositing the government’s share for the pension of the secretaries, arrangements for their better future were made. Atami attacked the Congress rule in Chhattisgarh and said that the women of Chhattisgarh have not forgotten how they were harassed for five years. The law and order situation was completely in shambles. Congressmen used to talk about carrying the law in their pockets by flouting it. A teacher was raped on Teachers’ Day and two sisters were raped on Rakshabandhan. The work of ready-to-eat food was snatched from the women self-help groups and they were deprived of employment. They promised liquor ban to the people of Chhattisgarh with Gangajal in their hands but did not fulfill it. Instead, they committed a scam of crores of rupees in liquor. The people of Chhattisgarh taught a lesson to the Congress first in the assembly elections and then in the Lok Sabha elections and now they are going to teach a lesson to the Congress party in the municipal and panchayat elections as well.
