
The Uttarakhand Cabinet meeting has concluded, and several important decisions have been approved, including the State Road Safety Policy 2025.
Key Decisions Approved by the Dhami Cabinet
The State Road Safety Policy 2025 has been given the green light, aiming to reduce road accidents and strictly enforce safety measures. Additionally, the Cabinet has decided to provide incentive funds to Van Panchayats (forest councils) and Mangal Dals under the Forest Fire Management Policy to help control forest fires.
Increase in Pension for Former MLAs
The Cabinet has also decided to create a land bank for housing projects, with plans for two new townships. Moreover, the pension for former MLAs has been increased from ₹40,000 to ₹60,000 per month.
Hike in Fuel Allowance
The Cabinet has approved an annual pension hike of ₹3,000, up from the previous ₹2,500. In addition, fuel allowances for MLAs attending assembly sessions have also been increased.
Land Use Changes & Infrastructure Projects
The Cabinet has approved the conversion of Khurpia Farm land for residential use. Furthermore, the Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for the construction of ropeways in Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib will be sent to the Central Government for approval.
