Weather Update: The weather in Uttarakhand is about to change. An alert has been issued for heavy snowfall and rain in many areas of the state. Dehradun and its surrounding regions are expected to be shrouded in fog.
Currently, most parts of the state are experiencing dry weather with plenty of sunshine throughout the day. However, in Dehradun and nearby areas, fog lingered in the morning, and by the afternoon, clouds began to gather in the sky. The cold winds have added to the chill in the air. According to the Meteorological Department, Thursday is likely to remain dry across most regions. In Dehradun, light fog is expected, along with some partial cloud cover in certain areas. On Wednesday morning, there was a bit of haze and fog, but later the sky cleared up, and bright sunshine appeared. Still, the cold winds continued to blow in the afternoon.
By evening, clouds started to gather again, leading to a noticeable drop in temperature at night. Additionally, the surrounding areas may also see some partial cloud cover, which could bring about chances of rain, resulting in a slight decrease in temperature. Bikram Singh, the director of the Meteorological Center, mentioned that the weather is expected to stay dry on Thursday and Friday, although some areas might still see partial clouds. Fog is likely to persist in the plains, while frost may occur in the mountainous regions. There’s a possibility of rain and snowfall on Saturday.
