BCCI Unhappy with Continuous Losses: A Review Expected After Team’s Return Home

BCCI Unhappy: The Indian cricket team, which has reached the World Test Championship finals twice, has failed to make it to the finals this time. After losing a 3-0 Test series at home against New Zealand, the team headed to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

This marks the first time the Indian team has lost a Test series at home to New Zealand by 0-3. On Sunday, they also lost the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) after 10 years, with Australia defeating India by six wickets in the fifth and final Test, winning the series 3-1. Consequently, the Indian team is now out of the race for the World Test Championship.  The performances of several players, including captain Rohit Sharma, former captain Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill, have been under scrutiny. Even cricket legends like Sunil Gavaskar and Irfan Pathan, along with fans, are quite upset about the team’s performance.

When asked about this, a senior BCCI official mentioned that they were listening to Gavaskar and Irfan after the match. Regarding Virat and Rohit, he stated that there are no signs suggesting that either of them plans to retire from Test cricket.  Additionally, during the nominations for the secretary position at Wankhede on Saturday, there was also discussion about Virat getting out to balls going outside off-stump consistently.
