More than 1 billion 61 crore 35 lakhs paid to 11286 farmers in lieu of paddy purchase
9689.96 quintals of paddy has been lifted by issuing DO
Jashpurnagar 20 December 2024: Under the direction of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the process of systematic purchase of paddy is continuing uninterrupted in Jashpur district. 70109.72 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased in the district since November 14. So far 11286 farmers of the district have sold their paddy. To make payment to these farmers in lieu of paddy purchase, Rs 1,61,35,07,960 has been paid by the Marketing Federation Headquarters to Apex Bank under the linking arrangement. This campaign of paddy purchase will continue till 31 January 2025.
Food department officials said that 51180 farmers have registered for this Kharif season. This includes 6301 new farmers. This year, 3,36,458.00 metric tonnes of paddy is estimated to be purchased through 46 procurement centres. Officials said that till 19 December, 72708.44 metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased from 11286 farmers. For this, a total of 84942.32 metric tonnes of tokens were issued till date. For the next 1 day’s purchase, a token of 11208.12 metric tonnes has been issued for a total of 1516 farmers. Contracts have been made with 52 millers in the district and till now DO of 68173.00 quintals has been issued, out of which 9689.96 quintals of paddy has also been lifted.
