Indian Army gets 456 new military officers, 35 foreign cadets also passed out

Dehradun – Today, the Indian Military Academy held its Passing Out Parade, where 456 new military officers were commissioned into the Indian Army. Among them, 35 foreign cadets also graduated. This time, the Reviewing Officer was General Ashok Raj, the Chief of the Nepalese Army, who took the salute during the parade. The gentleman cadets pledged to uphold the traditions of the Indian Army and to always keep the national flag flying high before they officially became officers. Jatin Kumar received the Sword of Honor for overall best performance. Other awards included a Gold Medal for Pratham Singh, Silver Medals for Jatin Kumar, Chirag Yadav** (TGC), and Mahipal Singh (TES), and a Bronze Medal for Mayank Dhyani Additionally, Praveen Pandey was honored with the Bangladesh Medal On Saturday, despite the biting cold, families of the cadets began arriving at the parade ground around 6 AM They faced heavy traffic near the academy, but media and family members were expected to reach the parade ground by 7:30 AM. The cadets arrived at the parade ground in front of the historic Chetwood Building at exactly 8:54 AM. About 36 minutes later, the main guest and Reviewing Officer, General Ashok Raj, arrived to take the salute. Following this, the cadets began their march. During the event, the Nepalese Army Chief awarded medals to cadets who excelled during their training. Before this, he inspected the parade and took the salute himself. In his message, General Ashok Raj praised the academy’s efforts and wished the graduating officers success in their future challenges. The parade lasted about an hour in front of the Chetwood Building, during which the cadets completed their training. Three helicopters flew over, showering the new officers with flowers from above, creating a beautiful scene that was met with applause from the families and army officials present. Exactly one hour and 27 minutes after the cadets took their first step, the Pipping Ceremony began at the Nizam Pavilion. During this ceremony, the new officers took their oath, and their families placed stars on their shoulders. After the main parade, General Sigdel presented awards to the color party and the cannoneers, along with the Reviewing Officer’s plate and sword. Following this grand Passing Out Parade at the IMA, 456 young officers have officially joined the Indian Army.The Indian Military Academy (IMA) has a proud history of training officers for the Indian Army and its allies. Today, 35 officers from friendly nations also graduated alongside their Indian counterparts. The Passing Out Parade (POP) took place at the historic Chetwood Building’s drill square, where General Ashok Raj Sigdel, the Chief of the Nepalese Army, took the salute. The IMA has now produced a total of 66,119 young military officers, including 2,988 officers for allied countries**, making it a truly global institution. Security was tight around the academy leading up to the POP, with armed soldiers deployed throughout the area.
