The cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dhami has concluded. During this meeting, discussions were held on more than two dozen proposals, and the Uttarakhand Housing Policy was approved. Today, the cabinet meeting took place at the secretariat under the leadership of Chief Minister Dhami. Cabinet ministers Ganesh Joshi, Subodh Uniyal, Rekha Arya, and Satpal Maharaj were present at the meeting. A total of 22 proposals were discussed, and the cabinet approved a 50% waiver on electricity bills for consumers. However, if any consumer misuses this benefit, they will face double recovery of the amount. Key Decisions from the Dhami Cabinet: 1. Salary Increase for Employees: The cabinet decided to grant a notional increment based on the years of service for retiring employees. 2. Increased Allowance for Drivers: The uniform allowance for drivers in government departments has been raised from ₹2,400 to ₹3,000. 3. Reservation for Women in Cooperatives: The cooperative department has introduced a provision for 33% reservation for women in cooperative societies. 4. Name Change for Gender Transition: Previously, there was no provision for name changes in the education department for those undergoing gender transition. Now, individuals can change their names after transitioning.
5. Resolution of Objections for Sports University: The cabinet has addressed the objections raised by the Raj Bhavan regarding the sports university. 6. Establishment of Gaushalas: Under the animal husbandry department, Gaushalas (cow shelters) will be established. 7. Personal Welfare Board for Transgender Community: The cabinet has approved the formation of a personal welfare board for the transgender community. 8. Strike Resolution in Revenue Department: Following a strike in the Uttarakhand revenue department, the cabinet has approved the conversion of earned leave. 9. New Guidelines for Anganwadi Workers: The cabinet has approved new guidelines for the recruitment of Anganwadi workers under the Women and Child Development Department. 10. Government Tours for Students: The higher education department will now arrange tours for students to explore significant places in India. 11. Educational Tours for Teachers: Teachers working in Uttarakhand’s higher education department will also be taken on tours to prominent educational institutions across the country. The Chief Minister’s scheme for excellent research paper publication has been approved, providing **₹10,000** to faculty members. 13. **Purchase of New Buses**: The cabinet has approved the purchase of **100 new buses** for the Uttarakhand Transport Corporation.
