Beneficiary women have been given assistance of Rs 6530.41 crore so far
Raipur 5 December 2024/ Chhattisgarh With the aim of promoting health, nutrition, economic self-reliance and empowerment of women, the Mahtari Vandan Yojana run by Vishnu Dev Government has brought a big change in the lives of beneficiary women. With the amount of this help, women have started fulfilling their daily needs as well as taking forward the activities of earning additional income. Ever since Mrs. Bindiya Prajapati is getting one thousand rupees every month under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, the glow of happiness is visible on her face. Mrs. Prajapati of village Dharhar of Marwahi development block is using the amount of Mahtari Vandan to expand her brick business. Financially weak Bindiya Bai earlier had to borrow money for clay to make bricks, husk-wood for baking, etc., now she does not have to beg in front of others. Mrs. Mamta, a resident of Balda Kachhar, a forest village in Baloda Bazar district, earns her livelihood by making traditional bamboo art pieces. Earlier, she was unable to buy bamboo for making bamboo crafts due to financial constraints, but now she gets Rs. 1,000 per month from the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, which she uses to buy bamboo. She is able to make Jhenjri, Supa, Parra, Tukni and other decorative items in large numbers, by selling which she is getting a good income, by saving which she is educating her daughters. Mahtari Vandan Yojana brought a change in the life of Mrs. Sunita Sahu, a resident of Jamdi village in Korea district. Mrs. Sahu, a mother of three children, has started investing the money received from the scheme for the higher education of her children.
Beneficiary Smt. Chandramani, a resident of Bakawand block headquarters of Bastar district, and her family do not have agricultural land. Both husband and wife somehow support their 6-member family by working as laborers. The Mahtari Vandan Yojana of the state government is now proving to be a support for their family. Due to which Chandramani is getting one thousand rupees and her mother-in-law Rukni is getting Rs 500 from Mahtari Vandan Yojana and Rs 500 under the Old Age Pension Scheme, which is not very much for this poor family but is proving to be useful. Similarly, there are many women who are becoming financially empowered due to the ambitious scheme Mahtari Vandan Yojana of the government of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. This step of the government is bringing a big change in their lives. It is worth noting that the said scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 10 March 2024. About 70 lakh beneficiary women of the state are being given financial assistance of one thousand rupees every month. From March to December, financial assistance of Rs 6530 crore 41 lakh has been given to the beneficiary women in 10 monthly installments.
