People of India are custodians of the Constitution: Governor Patel

The Governor appealed to follow the constitutional ethics while performing the tasks.

Bhopal: On the occasion of completion of 75 years of adoption of the Constitution, Governor Mangubhai Patel has appealed to the people of the state to reiterate their commitment towards following constitutional ethics in all their actions on Constitution Day with sincerity. Let us pledge that citizens will actively contribute to increasing public awareness for the rights received from the Constitution and the duties assigned to them through their conduct and behavior.

Governor Patel was addressing the politicians , officials and citizens as the chief guest at the mass reading of the Constitution Preamble program organized by the state government at Hans Dhwani Auditorium, Ravindra Bhawan. Governor Patel made the participants read the Constitution Preamble massly in the program. On this occasion, the documentary film Glory of Constitution produced by the Government of India and a short film prepared by the Parliamentary Affairs Department of the state were screened.

Governor Patel said that the Constitution is an inspirational living document for us Indians and a modern scripture of independent India , which guides all of us. The Constitution has been adopted by every citizen of the country, so the real guardians of the Constitution are we, the people of India. He said that the Constitution is not the guardian of one person, but of all. Therefore, the responsibility of its protection and promotion also lies with all of us. While on one hand the Constitution empowers the citizens, on the other hand, the citizens also support and protect the Constitution through their conduct and behavior. Therefore, it is important that every citizen of the country understands the objectives and importance of the Constitution with dedication and shows his respect for the Constitution by proper compliance. It is necessary for every section, every community and every citizen of the country to remain alert and active for the compliance of their rights and duties.

Governor Patel said that the day of completion of 75 years of the Constitution is an occasion and celebration of pride and understanding of universal values ​​for all of us Indians. This important event is being celebrated in the form of “Our Constitution – Our Self-Respect” campaign. It is important that the future generation should be made aware of the long struggle and sacrifice made by the Constitution makers to build an independent, democratic and self-reliant nation. Constitution Day should not be celebrated only as a celebration of governance and political parties, but as a celebration of gratitude towards the contribution of the nation makers. It is the responsibility of all of us to contribute our best in building a strong and inclusive society according to the Constitution, without discriminating on the basis of caste, religion, gender, language etc.

On the auspicious occasion of Constitution Day, Governor Patel remembered the architect of the Indian Constitution, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar and all the great personalities of the Constituent Assembly. Paying tribute to him, he said that his wonderful vision and efforts have given us a Constitution , which provides equality, freedom and justice to all citizens. We are all grateful to him for this. He extended his heartfelt greetings to all the people of the state on Constitution Day.

Constitution is a reflection of the soul of our country: Deputy Chief Minister Deora

Special guest of the program, Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda said that our constitution is not a collection of laws, but a reflection of the soul of our country. Giving information about the “Our Constitution-Our Self-Respect” campaign, he said that the constitution has given us the right to live an independent life and has also told us the limits of freedom. Devda said that we are all fortunate that we have such a constitution which provides equality, freedom and justice to all. He bowed at the feet of Dr. Ambedkar, the architect of the constitution, and said that it is the responsibility of all of us to introduce the future generation to the values ​​of the constitution.

26 November is the golden day for adopting the Constitution: Chief Secretary Mr. Jain

Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Jain said that 26th November is the golden day of adoption of the Constitution in Indian history. He said that the Constitution, prepared after nearly 3 years of hard work by our Constitution makers, is a strong and living document reflecting the sentiments of the times. It is the basis of our democratic system. He remembered the members of the Constituent Assembly and Baba Saheb Ambedkar and saluted them.

Governor Patel along with the guests inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. The guests were welcomed by presenting a bouquet of flowers. On this occasion, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Backward Classes, Minorities, Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Welfare Department, Smt. Krishna Gaur, MLAs  Rameshwar Sharma, Bhagwan Das Sabnani and Additional Chief Secretary General Administration K.C. Gupta were present on the stage.
