Madhya Pradesh Pavilion of 43rd IITF became a platform for entrepreneurs, self-help groups and craftsmen of the state

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Pavilion of the 43rd India International Trade Fair (IITF) in New Delhi is showcasing the state’s special products and art, representing the state’s rich culture and craftsmanship. Stalls have been set up in the pavilion for display and sale of handicrafts, handlooms, food processing products, One District One Product (ODOP) and GI products prepared by MSME entrepreneurs, self-help groups and craftsmen from various districts of the state.

More than 25 MSME entrepreneurs, self-help groups and craftsmen are participating in the Madhya Pradesh pavilion. Various stalls of the state’s famous handloom and handicrafts have been set up in the pavilion. The stall of Shri Mohammad Yusuf Khatri, the craftsman of Bagh Prints of Dhar district, who has been awarded national and international awards, is becoming the most popular. Rewa Self-Help Group of Dhar has brought Bagh Prints, Muskan Self-Help Group of Ujjain has brought Batik Prints, Pakiza Weavers of Ashoknagar have brought Ajrakh Prints products and Surabhi Handloom has brought Chanderi sarees and suits.

The Indian Weavers Cooperative Society has set up a stall of Sidhi’s famous carpets, rugs and runners. The specialty of these carpets is that they will last for 20 years or more. The Sunshine Weavers Cooperative Society of Rajgarh is selling bedsheets, bedcovers, sofa covers and curtains. Jackets from Shivpuri, leather bags from Dewas, readymade garments from Gwalior and aloe vera gel from Rewa are also being liked a lot. Ananya Self-Help Group of Rajgarh and Om Shanti Self-Help Group of Katni have also set up their stalls in the pavilion.

Fragrant incense and agarbatti made from recycled flowers of Varundev Self Help Group of Guna and Kuku, Ashtagandha, Dung cakes, incense sticks and havan samagri of Dashmesh Ayurherb Softech of Dewas are also in demand at the pavilion.

Shri Krishna Gopal Handicrafts has set up a stall of artistic statues, diyas and show-pieces made from Tikamgarh’s famous bell metal. In the pavilion, Mrs. Nirmala Usare and Mrs. Humera Khan of Bhopal are selling zari-zardosi purses, wallets and potlis and jute craft products by Mrs. Neetu Yadav. Sant Ravidas Self-Help Group of Ujjain has set up a stall of artistic bamboo toys. Lamps, boxes, vases, coasters and clocks made of bamboo by Mr. Rahul Jadhav of Betul are being liked a lot by the visitors. In the pavilion, Mr. Vinayak is teaching the visitors the intricacies of Meenakari jewellery and decorative products made in Mandsaur.

Mr. Rajendra Singh of Morena is selling gajak and chikki made of jaggery, cashew, almond and cardamom, which are in the highest demand in the pavilion. Stalls of garlic sev, masala sev, gathiya and besan papdi have been set up by Ayush Aajeevika Self Help Group of Morena, Gungun Self Help Group of Ratlam and Mahak Kasera Food. Dakshina Self Help Group of Dindori has brought namkeen and cupcakes made from millets, this stall is becoming most popular due to the traditional costumes of the group members.

Madhya Pradesh Pavilion has provided a unique platform for MSME entrepreneurs, self-help groups and craftsmen, through which they are getting an opportunity to sell their products and promote their brands in the national and international markets. Along with the sale and exhibition of products in the pavilion, visitors are also getting an opportunity to learn about the culture and craftsmanship of Madhya Pradesh.
