Uttarakhand Recognized as the Best State in Fisheries
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed his congratulations, stating that the government is working to improve the livelihoods of fish farmers.
Dehradun: Uttarakhand is set to receive an award from the National Fisheries Development Board in Hyderabad for promoting fish farming. The state has been recognized as the best in the category for Himalayan and northeastern states.
This award will be presented on November 21 during an event in New Delhi to mark World Fisheries Day, by the Central Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Dairy, and Panchayati Raj, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lallan Singh. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated the department and fish farmers on this achievement, noting that the government is providing all possible assistance for the welfare of livestock farmers. Efforts are being made to promote fish farming not just in the plains but also in mountainous regions.
