Provide water to farmers through multi-micro irrigation in 30 days: Deputy Chief Minister Shukla
Bhopal. Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla reviewed the major irrigation projects of the division in the Commissioner Office Auditorium, Rewa. The Deputy Chief Minister said that due to minor obstacles, irrigation is not being started through multi-micro irrigation. Officers of the Water Resources Department and the construction agency should immediately start construction work in the remaining part of the multi-canal construction. The Commissioner and Inspector General of Police should ensure necessary arrangements to maintain law and order during the construction work. Due to obstruction in construction work on the acquired land in about 10 places, irrigation facility is not being available in 65 thousand hectares of area. All construction work should be completed in 30 days and farmers should be provided irrigation through multi-micro irrigation.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that a large number of farmers of Sidhi, Mauganj and Rewa districts will benefit from the Hanumana Lift Irrigation Project. For this, the government has approved Rs 4 thousand crore. Its main dam will be built on the Son river in Sidhi district. Water will be transported to Mauganj and Hanuman through lift from it. Immediately apply for environmental approval and all other recommendations for the project. Chief Forest Conservator should issue approvals as per departmental parameters for environmental approval of the project. The Deputy Chief Minister also directed to complete the construction of canals of Naigadhi Micro Pressure Irrigation Project soon.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that to speed up development in all the districts of Vindhya region, it is necessary to complete the work of Lalitpur-Singrauli railway line and irrigation projects on time. Complete the construction work expeditiously by providing the necessary land for the railway project, so that Rewa is connected to Sidhi district by railway line in 2025. In the meeting, Chief Engineer Water Resources Department gave information about the progress of irrigation projects.
It was told in the meeting that the construction of 21 km canal and 3.1 km tunnel in Chuhiya Valley has been completed in Bahuti irrigation project. There are difficulties in carrying out construction work on the land acquired for canal construction in 11 places in Maihar, Sidhi and Rewa districts. These difficulties will be removed and the construction work will be completed in 30 days.
