The Pollution Control Board has sprayed water with drones for the first time in view of dust and other particles present in the atmosphere. This spraying has been done at one place each in Kumaon and Garhwal divisions. PCB claims that such an effort has been made for the first time in the state.

In the state, PCB has been monitoring the quality of air and noise in Dehradun, Rishikesh, Kashipur, Tehri, Rudrapur, Haldwani and Nainital since October 24 in view of Diwali. Apart from this, water was sprayed with the help of drones in Dehradun and Kashipur to further improve the air quality.

In Dehradun, water was sprayed in ISBT, Dilaram Chowk, Rajpur, Jogiwala, Nehru Colony, Bengali Kothi in two hours. 11 liters of water was sprayed with the drone at one time. Similarly, spraying was done in Kashipur Government Hospital, Chhatri Chowk from 8 to 5 pm. According to PCB, a similar effort will be made in Rishikesh.

Benefits of improving Air Quality Index (AQI)

Improvement in AQI reduces the amount of pollutants in the air, which reduces the risk of respiratory and heart diseases. Less pollution has a direct impact on life expectancy, as it has a positive impact on people’s health. People can live a healthy life for a long time due to clean air. Clean air also pollutes plants, water sources and soil less. This maintains ecological balance.
