Now MD course can also be done in Pediatrics in Government Doon Medical College. The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved the course with approval of seven seats in the college. The admission process for these seats will be started soon through NEET.
Health and Medical Education Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that a target has been set to get 100-100 seats under MD course for the academic session 2025-26 in the government medical colleges of the state. This will overcome the shortage of super specialist doctors in the state. The Medical Education Department has sent a proposal to the NMC for approval of maximum seats in the MD course.
