Madhya Pradesh gets the gift of road construction projects worth Rs 20,000 crore
Bhopal. Madhya Pradesh is constantly touching new heights of development under the able leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. In accordance with his vision, the infrastructure in the state is developing rapidly, which is proving to be helpful in the overall upliftment of the state. With the aim of strengthening and modernizing the infrastructure of Madhya Pradesh, Union Surface and Transport Minister Shri Nitin Gadkari has approved road construction projects worth more than Rs 20,000 crore for the state as per the announcement made in the seminar held in Bhopal on October 19. Action is being taken rapidly to bring these projects on the ground soon. In the coming days, 27 projects to be started at a cost of about 20 thousand 403 crores will expand the routes and roads of the state, which will make traffic smooth as well as bring unprecedented improvement in road safety.
Public Works Minister Shri Rakesh Singh expressed his gratitude to Union Minister Shri Gadkari and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav. He said that this gift is a big achievement for the state, which will give a new direction to the infrastructure development of the state. Road construction work will start in various areas of the state, which will establish new dimensions of economic and social progress along with improving traffic. These ambitious projects will increase the pace of development in Madhya Pradesh and travel will be easier and safer for the citizens of the state.
Proposed projects under NHAI:
Betul-Khandwa Section (NH-347B): 2-lane plus powered section will be constructed from Betul to Mohda (90 km) and Mohda to Barakund, costing Rs 1,200 crore.
Deshgaon-Khargone Section (NH-347B): A budget of Rs 1,700 crore has been allocated to convert this 65 km long road into 4 lanes.
Khargone-Barwani Section (NH-347B): 35 km. There is a provision of Rs 1,000 crore in this project.
Baretha Ghat (NH-46): This 20 km long section of the Tiger Corridor in Itarsi-Betul section will be converted into a 4-lane road at a cost of Rs 550 crore.
Salkanpur-Nasrullaganj-Budhni-Bari Stretch: The cost of this 41 km long section has been fixed at Rs 650 crore.
Jhabua-Raipuria-Petlawad Section: There is a provision of Rs 650 crore for this 50 km long project.
Betul-Khandwa Package-4 (NH-347B): This 33 km long project will be completed at a cost of Rs 381 crore.
Sagar-Kanpur (Package-3): This 55 km long road from Satia Ghat to Angor village will be built at a cost of Rs 1,006 crore.
Sagar-Kanpur (Package-4): 44 km stretch from Angor village to MP/UP border. The cost of this section is Rs 996 crore.
Gwalior City Bypass: This 29 km long bypass in the western region will cost Rs 1,005 crore.
Orchha-Jhansi Greenfield Highway Link: This link connecting NH-26 to NH-76 will be 14 km long and will cost Rs 491 crore.
Sagar Bypass (Sagar Link Road-02): This 26 km long bypass will cost Rs 756 crore.
Jabalpur-Damoh (Package-1 and 3): This 80 km long project from Jabalpur to Damoh will cost Rs 1,773 crore.
Rewa-Sidhi Section (NH-39): This 30 km long section will cost Rs 1,500 crore.
The total project length of 612 km under NHAI is estimated to be Rs 13,658 crore.
Projects proposed under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways:
Mandla Bypass to Nainpur Bypass (NH-543): This 46 km long section will cost Rs 642 crore.
Sendhwa-Khetia (NH-752G): This 57 km long section will cost Rs 725 crore.
Tikamgarh-Orchha (NH-539): This 75 km long project will cost Rs 926 crore.
Shahgarh-Tikamgarh (NH-539): This 80.1 km long road will cost Rs 951 crore.
Anjad-Barwani (NH-347B): This 20.25 km long project will cost Rs 250 crore.
Chanderi-Pichhore (NH-346): This 55.15 km long section will cost Rs 452 crore, which also includes three greenfield bypasses.
Sirmour-Dabhora (NH-135B): This 38.29 km long road will have a budget of Rs 300 crore.
Pawai-Saleha-Jaso-Nagaud (NH-943): Rs 56 crore will be spent on the remaining work of this 12.49 km long section.
Betul-Paratwara (NH-548C): There is a provision of Rs 580 crore for this 62.16 km long road.
Nainpur bypass to Balaghat bypass (NH-543): This 74.35 km long section will cost Rs 860 crore.
Loniya (Madhya Pradesh / Maharashtra border) to Burhanpur (NH-347C): 8.8 km. This project will cost Rs 100 crore.
Singrauli-Chitrangi-Bagdara (NH-135C): 70.1 km. This road is 70.1 km long and costs Rs 903 crore.
Under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, the total project length of 616 km has an estimated budget of Rs 6,745 crore.
Approved projects
Projects already approved in the financial year 2024-25 which are in progress in different parts of the state.
Ayodhya Nagar Bypass (NH-46 to NH-146): 16 km. This bypass costs Rs 1,219 crore.
Gyaraspur-Rahatgarh (NH-146): 36 km. This project will cost Rs 620 crore.
