Raipur. Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale held a meeting of the representatives of the recognized political parties of the state today. In the meeting held at the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, she gave information about the model code of conduct, election expenditure, polling day arrangements and Election Commission of India’s guidelines for Raipur Nagar (South) Assembly by-election. It is noteworthy that the Election Commission of India has announced the program for Raipur Nagar (South) Assembly by-election on October 15. Voting for Raipur Nagar (South) by-election will be held on November 13 and counting of votes will be held on November 23.
Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale told the representatives of political parties that with the announcement of the election program, the Model Code of Conduct has come into effect in Raipur Nagar South Assembly constituency. She informed that there are 253 polling stations in Raipur Nagar South Assembly constituency for voting, all of which are located in the urban area. He said that auxiliary polling stations will be set up in 13 polling stations with more than 1500 voters.
Chief Election Officer Reena Kangale informed that as per the instructions of the Commission, voters can vote at polling stations by showing photo voter identity card issued by the Election Commission of India as well as 12 other types of identity cards notified by the Commission.
Chief Election Officer Mrs. Kangale informed the representatives of political parties in the meeting that only 3 vehicles of the candidate will be able to enter within 100 meters of the nomination center for nomination. Only 5 persons including the candidate will be able to enter the nomination room for nomination. Mrs. Kangale informed that complaints of violation of the Model Code of Conduct can be made through the C-Vigil app. Candidates and political parties can apply for various types of permissions through the Suvidha mobile app of the Election Commission of India.
In the meeting, the representatives of political parties were informed about the Commission’s instructions regarding the limit of expenditure by political parties and candidates during elections and maintenance of expenditure accounts. It was told in the meeting that the limit of election expenditure incurred by the candidate during the election will be Rs 40 lakh. In the meeting, the representatives of political parties were also informed about the process of permission of vehicles and rallies during the election period and the guidelines of the Election Commission of India in this regard.
