Complete the construction of roads and bridges of highest priority for good connectivity expeditiously: Arun Sao
Raipur. Deputy Chief Minister and Public Works Minister Arun Saw today reviewed the works of the Public Works Department being done in all the districts of Bastar division in Jagdalpur. In the meeting, he instructed the officials to expeditiously complete the construction of roads and bridges of highest priority for good connectivity. He asked to complete all the construction works within the time limit with good quality as per the technical parameters. He asked the officers posted there to accept the challenges and do better work for the people of Bastar. Secretary of Public Works Department Dr. Kamalpreet Singh and Chief Engineer KK Pipri also attended the review meeting.
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw said in the meeting that Bastar, full of its natural beauty, immense forest and mineral wealth, tourist places and rich cultural heritage, is an important area not only for Chhattisgarh but also for the country. The path to make Chhattisgarh and the country a leader will go through Bastar only. He asked the officials to work with full commitment for the betterment of the people of Bastar despite adverse conditions and challenges. In the meeting, he did a detailed review of the ongoing and maintenance works under the Bastar division of the Public Works Department.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Saw, while reviewing the progress of the works of building and road construction, electrical and mechanical and bridge construction in the meeting, told the officials to create a system themselves to conduct the construction works in a timely and systematic manner and work by setting targets for each day. This will achieve good results. He asked to monitor the works using modern techniques and focus on completing quality work with technical parameters within the stipulated time. If there is a provision to give incentives for completing the work on time, then make positive efforts in this direction. As an engineer, regularly spend more time in the field, keep a close eye on the work. Take action against contractors doing poor work as per rules.
Secretary of Public Works Department Dr. Kamalpreet Singh, while stressing on ensuring road safety related technical parameters during road construction, directed to make it mandatory to comply with the technical provisions included in the DPR. In the meeting, a detailed review of RRP first and second phase, RCPLWE first and second phase, new national highway construction and Chhattisgarh State Road Development Agency works including state budget works and maintenance works of buildings and roads was done. Chief Engineer of Bastar Zone of Public Works Department Mr. G.R. Raote, Chief Engineer of Electrical and Mechanical, Bridge and National Highway, Superintending Engineer of Jagdalpur and Kanker Circle and departmental officers of both the circles were also present.
