Sagar. In a tragic incident in Shahpur of Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh, 8 children have died due to collapse of mud wall, while many other children have been seriously injured. This accident happened when the children had gathered to make clay Shivling and suddenly a mud wall fell on them.

Shivling construction and Bhagwat Katha were being organized in Hardaul temple. The work of making Shivling was going on even on Sunday, 4 August. Due to being a holiday, many children of 8 to 14 years also reached there to make Shivling. During the construction of Shivling, suddenly a raw wall of about fifty years old located near the temple premises collapsed, causing this tragic accident.

How did the accident happen:
Shivlings were being made every day since morning in the month of Sawan in Hardaul temple. Sunday was a holiday, due to which many children of 8 to 14 years were also present there in large numbers. When the children were making Shivling, a 50-year-old raw wall near the temple suddenly collapsed. The wall fell directly on the children who were making Shivling. In this accident, many children got buried under the wall, out of which eight children died.

Commotion on the spot:
After this incident, there was a lot of commotion on the spot and the work of removing the debris of the wall started immediately. The city council, police and local residents got involved in the relief work. This wall was located next to the temple complex and was in a dilapidated condition for the last 50 years. No arrangements were made for its renovation or removal. In the last 24 hours, 104 mm of rainfall was recorded in Sagar, which affected the raw and dilapidated constructions and increased the risk of collapse of this wall.
