Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for approving the 6-lane Agra-Gwalior National High-Speed ​​Corridor project by the Union Cabinet. He said, “As a centrally located state, Madhya Pradesh will get improved infrastructure and economic benefits from the 6-lane Agra-Gwalior National High-Speed ​​Corridor Project. This project is an important step towards giving new dimensions to the infrastructure of the country led by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The project aims to strengthen the national transport infrastructure and stimulate economic growth.

The Union Cabinet has approved 8 important National High-Speed ​​Road Corridor Projects of 936 km length at a total capital cost of Rs 50,655 crore to improve the efficiency of logistics, reduce congestion and enhance connectivity across the country.

Reduction in Agra-Gwalior travel time

One of the most important features of the project is the 6-lane Agra-Gwalior National High-Speed ​​Corridor. This 88 km long high-speed corridor will be developed on Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) mode with a total capital cost of Rs 4,613 crore. This project will connect Agra and The travel time between Agra and Gwalior will be reduced by 50% and it will help in increasing the traffic capacity of the existing 4-lane national highway by more than 2 times. This corridor will also enhance connectivity to major tourist destinations of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.

This initiative will significantly enhance logistics efficiency, reduce congestion and improve connectivity across the country. This will also result in boosting economic development and facilitate travel and trade between different regions of the country.

Project Description

The 6-lane access-controlled Agra-Gwalior Greenfield Highway will start from design km 0.000 near village Deori in Agra district to design km 88-400 near village Susra in Gwalior district in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. It will also include overlay/strengthening and other road safety and improvement works on the existing Agra-Gwalior section NH-44.
