Fine of Rs 60,000 imposed for less than prescribed number of sanitation workers

Raipur – Today, as per the order of Raipur Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abinash Mishra and the instructions of Additional Commissioner Rajendra Prasad Gupta, Municipal Corporation Health Officer Dr Tripti Panigrahi conducted a surprise inspection of the sanitation system of ward number 6 under Municipal Corporation Zone No. 2. During this, instructions were given to impose a fine of Rs 10,000 on the concerned contractor for finding less than prescribed number of sanitation workers on duty and the sanitation system of the ward getting affected due to this and to propose action to cancel the sanitation contract of ward 6 under the procedure as per rules. The Health Officer conducted a surprise inspection of the sanitation system of ward number 38 of zone number 7. Here, instructions were given to impose a fine of Rs 10,000 on the sanitation contractor and Rs 5,000 on the zone sanitation gang for negligence in work due to less than prescribed number of sanitation workers being found on duty and the sanitation system of the ward getting affected. During a surprise inspection of the cleanliness system of ward number 52 of zone number 10, when the drain on the zone office road was found filled with garbage, and the cleanliness of the ward was found affected due to less number of sanitation workers being found on duty than the prescribed number, Municipal Corporation Health Officer Dr. Tripti Panigrahi directed to impose a fine of Rs. 5000 on the Swachhata Commando contractor, Rs. 5000 on the zone gang, Rs. 25000 on the ward’s sanitation contractor and to issue a show cause notice to the ward’s regular sanitation supervisor Mr. Sameer.
