Raipur, everyone likes to see small children laughing and giggling in the courtyard of the house. In the changing weather, the concern for the health of children is also a big challenge for parents. The summer season is full of troubles among all these. Parents take various measures to prevent children from heat stroke in the scorching heat. Similar measures are being taken for children in the Anganwadi centers of the state with the efforts of the Chhattisgarh government.

To protect the little children from the scorching heat, the district administration has arranged coolers and fans in the Anganwadi centers of Mahasamund district. Now children are studying with joy in the Anganwadi center. On one hand, the presence of children has increased due to the comfortable environment, while the arrangement of coolers and fans has provided relief from the scorching heat in Anganwadi centres.
The district administration has also completed 100% electrification of all 1789 Anganwadi centres in the district. Stoves and gas cylinders have also been provided in Anganwadi centres for a smoke-free environment. Pure and nutritious food is being cooked on gas stoves and given to the children. Parents of children studying in Anganwadi are also happy with this arrangement.
Mrs. Lilima Dewar, mother of Siddhi Dewar who studies in Anganwadi run in Sushil Samuel Ward of Mahasamund, said that due to the installation of coolers in Anganwadi this year, our children are going to Anganwadi regularly. Last year, in summer, they used to avoid going to Anganwadi.

Mr. Vishnu Dhiwar, father of Saurabh Dhiwar who studies in Anganwadi located in Nayapara Ward No. 11, said that we were worried about the heat this year, but there is no risk of heat stroke in children due to coolers installed in Anganwadi centers. Therefore, we are sending children to Anganwadi centers regularly without any worry.

Along with providing nutritious food to children in Anganwadi centers, positive efforts are being made to eliminate malnutrition. For health and nutrition, a detailed review is done by holding regular meetings of the Women and Child Development Department, health workers and Mitanins. Children are given hot food full of nutrition. Under the Suposhan Abhiyan, children are also given chikkibar made from moringa and ragi. Apart from this, ready-to-eat food is also given to children as supplementary nutrition.

Women and Child Development Department Program Officer Mr. Sameer Pandey said that this year 400 adolescent girls suffering from anemia have been brought to normal condition. A total of 46 new Anganwadis have been approved for construction in the district through MNREGA convergence in 2023-24. Now the number of Anganwadi centers operating in their own buildings in the district has increased to 1699. 91 new centers have been built this year. At the same time, Nutrition Rehabilitation Centers have also been started in Pithora for malnourished children.

It is worth mentioning that Anganwadi workers ensure prenatal and antenatal care for pregnant women and provide diagnosis and care for newborns and lactating mothers. They manage vaccination for all children between 0 and 6 years of age. Monitoring regular health and medical checkups for women and children is one of their main responsibilities.
