Under the Swachh Survekshan, as per the orders of Raipur District Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh and as per the instructions of Municipal Corporation Raipur Commissioner Abinash Mishra, wet and dry waste is being separated in all 70 wards under all the 10 zones of the Municipal Corporation area by keeping them in separate dustbins. Public awareness campaign is being conducted by continuously going from door to door by providing Safai Mitra in the cleaning vehicle and making people aware about improving the environment in the interest of society through public participation. This campaign is being regularly inspected by Zone Commissioners and Zone Health Officers. Today, during the door to door garbage collection campaign, Rs 1000 was collected from Anant Sai Hospital and Canteen in Puraina area of Rani Durgavati Ward No. 50 under Municipal Corporation Zone 10, Rs 500 from V Care Hospital Canteen, Rs 100 from two residents of Green Paradise Complex. After receiving Rs 100 for giving mixed dry and wet waste, on the instructions of Zone 10 Zone Commissioner Mr. Ramesh Jaiswal, Municipal Corporation Health Officer Dr. Trupti Panigrahi, Zone Health Officer Mr. Puran Tandi imposed a dry and wet penalty for the future on the above mentioned 2 institutions and 2 individuals. A total fine of Rs 1700 was imposed while giving clear advice to separate the garbage. The Municipal Corporation Health Department has once again made a humble appeal to all the citizens, shopkeepers and traders to keep the wet and dry waste of their houses, shops and institutions in separate dustbins and give it to Safai Mitra in the corporation cleaning vehicle with a view to improving the environment in the interest of society.
