All these Maoists have surrendered after being influenced by the ease of rehabilitation process due to the wide publicity of Chhattisgarh government’s Naxal eradication policy Niyad Nellnar and the various facilities being provided to them by the government after the surrender of large cadre Maoists. The development work being done in the district was a major reason behind the surrender of Maoists, the rapid construction of roads, various facilities reaching the villages have influenced them. Disillusionment and disappointment from the ideas of the organization, growing internal differences within the organization are a major reason for their surrender. The rehabilitation policy of Chhattisgarh government has given them new hope. They are returning to the mainstream in the hope of getting out of exploitation and cruel behavior within the organization and living a normal life by returning to the mainstream of society. The constant establishment of camps by security forces in the interior areas and the aggressive operations being carried out in the region and the fear of getting killed have also motivated them to leave the organization. Surrendered Maoists have been actively working in the region.

In the coming time, intelligence is being received that more Naxalites are leaving the organization and surrendering. DRG, Bastar Fighter, STF, CRPF 222, 199, 196, 85 and Cobra 210, 202, 204, 205, 206 have made a special contribution in getting these surrendered. Thus, the surrender of Maoists has caused a big loss to the top Maoist cadre. The dream of Naxal-free Bastar is becoming a reality. Appeal- DVCM Dinesh Modiyam, who has been actively working in Gangalore Area Committee, has shared his experience of working in the Maoist organization for 20 years. He has told how the big leaders of the Maoist organization lure the tribal villagers of the area in the name of fighting for the people and forests and recruit them into the organization and they are forced to fight violently against the government. He has also told that those who go against the organization are mercilessly awarded death penalty by setting up a people’s court. Dinesh Modiyam, after walking on the path of violence for 20 years and being disillusioned with the banned organization, surrendered before the police and appealed to his Maoist brothers and sisters to abandon the path of violence and join the mainstream of society, fulfill their social responsibilities together with the society and cooperate in taking the government’s schemes to the people.

Appeal – SP Bijapur Dr. Jitendra Kumar Yadav told that the benefits of the government’s rehabilitation policy, land, house, job have attracted them. Appeal for surrender during community policing campaign – The families of the Naxalites who have gone astray in ideology also want to bring them back. We appeal to all Naxalite brothers and sisters that the time has come for them to come out of the misleading talks and ideology of outsiders. Join the mainstream of society, where they can lead a normal life without fear. Reason for leaving the organisation:- Due to wide publicity of the rehabilitation policy of CG Government, benefits under rehabilitation plan and with the thought of living a happy life with family, the misguided Maoists of the society, troubled by the neglect of their work in the organisation, discriminatory behaviour and atrocities being committed on tribals by Maoists, influenced by the surrender and rehabilitation policies of CG Government, having faith in the Constitution of India, surrendered before the police. On surrendering, to encourage them, they were given Rs. 25000-25000/- (twenty five thousand rupees) in cash incentive under the surrender and rehabilitation policy of the Government.
